She was always a bowling fan and an Elvis fan as well. One day in California, she was presented a nice surprise from a fellow bowler whose son was active in radio.</p> <p>Marsha was given the complete set of recordings of <em><strong>The Elvis Presley Story</strong></em>. This thirteen hour special radio series was one of the great success stories of the 1970s, as it played on all of the major radio stations of the day and drew huge audiences.</p> <p>Over the years, time took its toll on this show, as it does on everything precious. Watermark, the company that produced the shows, was sold to ABC Radio Network, and soon most of us forgot about this radio jewel.</p> <p>Then, as the 21st Century began and the anniversary of the 30th year from the date of Presley's death approached, Marsha contacted me. She wanted to sell the thirteen record set. After all, she was now retired, and she needed the money.</p> <p>We settled on a course of action: a private auction on our shopping web site, <a href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/"><strong>www.shopjerrypippin.com</strong></a>, for collectors only. But, we wanted everyone to take part, to see how this plays out with Elvis collectors. Therefore, we have made the auction public.</p> <p><strong>Click on the auction announcement banner below to see how Marsha is doing with her sales effort. And, if you are interested in this rare collection of recordings, you can enter your own bid.</strong></p> <p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.shopjerrypippin.com/auction.asp"></a></p> <p>We will be presenting many new Elvis programs and podcasts, including more of <em><strong>The Elvis Presley Story</strong></em> over the coming months on this website, so keep checking back both here and on on main <strong><a href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis.htm">Elvis Presley Show</a></strong> page for our special Elvis programs.</p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.jordanselvisworld.simplenet.com/"></a></strong></p> <p><strong><a name="Menu"></a></strong></p> <p><strong>Elvis Presley</strong> died in his Memphis mansion on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42. The iconic status he achieved in his lifetime coupled with a sudden and relatively early death cemented his position as one of the most famous rock stars ever.</p> <p><strong>Jerry Pippin presents a series of thirteen programs:</strong></p> <p><em>The Elvis Presley Story</em></p> <p>Original recordings produced and distributed by Watermark Productions (1975,1977)</p> <p>Digitized by Jerry Pippin Productions</p> <p><a href="http://www.ticketsnow2.com/b.asp?id=12053&amp;img=banner3.gif"></a></p> <p><strong>PROGRAM MENU</strong></p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.jordanselvisworld.simplenet.com/"></a></strong></p> <p><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav12'].src=MSFPnav12h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav12'].src=MSFPnav12n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav13'].src=MSFPnav13h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav13'].src=MSFPnav13n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav14'].src=MSFPnav14h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav14'].src=MSFPnav14n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis_legend.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav15'].src=MSFPnav15h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav15'].src=MSFPnav15n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis_a_rama_special.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav16'].src=MSFPnav16h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav16'].src=MSFPnav16n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis_wordsandmusic.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav17'].src=MSFPnav17h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav17'].src=MSFPnav17n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis_shows.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav18'].src=MSFPnav18h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav18'].src=MSFPnav18n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/Elvis_Listners.htm"></a><a language="JavaScript" onmouseover="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav19'].src=MSFPnav19h.src" onmouseout="if(MSFPhover) document['MSFPnav19'].src=MSFPnav19n.src" href="http://www.jerrypippin.com/elvis_other_stuff.htm"></a></p> <p>Listen now to an actual recording from the thirteen record set being auctioned.
