Ashley Smith

Contributing Writer

I am currently the business editor of The Telegraph, a daily newspaper in Nashua, New Hampshire. Prior to that, I spent nearly four years as a reporter for The Telegraph, covering a variety of subjects from business to local government and social issues.

In my current role, I am responsible for coordinating business coverage across various sections of the paper, in addition to writing stories. As a reporter, I have extensively covered economic issues, personal finance and local business, with a concentration on companies in Southern New Hampshire's high-tech sector.

I have received various reporting awards from the New England Associated Press News Executives Association, the New England Press Association and the New Hampshire Press Association. In 2008, I won two first place NEAPNEA awards for collaborative series on the largest telecom takeover in U.S. history and New Hampshire's transgender population.

In addition to business and economic issues, I enjoy writing about fitness, entertainment, shopping, travel and food.

I hold a bachelor's degree in English/Journalism from the University of New Hampshire.
