Though I may be new to the freelance game, I've been writing all my life. I studied English for my undergraduate degree at Winthrop University, focusing on Modern American and European fiction, although my interests have since blossomed outward into Modern and Contemporary American Poetry. Similarly, I've presented a paper on the parody of Sacher von Masoch's "Venus in Furs" in James Joyce's "Ulysses" at the 2007 Southeastern Regional ACIS conference at Winthrop. Currently I'm in the process of determining the direction of my next venture as I pursue a Master's Degree in English in the Fall of 2009.

Though my first love is literature, music is a close second and film a competing third. These three topics form the core of my interests about which I'd like to write on Suite 101. I have dabbled in new media journalism before, hosting an occasional podcast and posting intermittent blogs about concerts, albums, books and films; however, what this website offers is a chance to challenge my inner procrastinator with deadlines and incentives for prolific posting.
