I am a self-confessed lover of travel and always keen to discover another 'must see location' somewhere on this giant rock, finances permitting naturally. I'm a big believer in broadening life experience through travelling and what better way for legions of writers to share common tales of travelling debauchery than the good old interweb?

I am 26 and have lived in England thus far all my life, having spent the last two years working in newspaper journalism. In late 2007/2008 I spent seven months travelling across 19 European countries as my first major dip into the vast blue ocean of solo travel; prior to this I had spent six weeks crossing the United States by Greyhound Bus during my university years. I reasoned what price travelling halfway across the world in these uncertain economic times when a diverse and historically-rich continent lies virtually on my doorstep? My wallet complained bitterly, preferring the budget option of South East Asia; we eventually settled out of court.

I have aspirations of travel writing as a potential career, given my natural love of writing and, indeed, travel. For now I am glad to have discovered such a writers' forum as suite101 and look forward to writing and sharing experiences and future potential travel itineraries with one and all.
