Andrea Evans

I am something of a nomad, having been born in England, brought up in Malawi and have since lived in South Africa, Canada and once again the UK. I have a newly developed love of the Mediterranean and the Agaean and sudden cravings to travel to Asia!. Bring on that lottery win!

I have written before on Suite 101 under my maiden name Andrea Jones when I produced several articles about British Columbia in Western Canada. I then moved back to the UK and am ready to pick up my pen, or rather my keyboard, and start describing some of the UK's special places.

My daughter still lives in Canada and my son, who has Autism and Asperger's Syndrome is benefitting from the Special Education system in this country. As a result I am now involved in the Special Olympics programme in the UK whcih is an incredibly inspiring movement.

My other interests include ice -hockey, football (the soccer type), cross stitch and global issues. I also enjoy keeping up with friends that I have known longer than I care to mention via various networking sites. As a result you can expect to see articles and blogs on a wide variety of topics. I also hope to expand the scope and publication of my writing in the near future.
