Sandra Jones - Profile

I am a American who now calls Wales home. I have a bit of Welsh blood in me, along with most of Western Europe, I have always been interested in Wales, but of course now living here has furthered the interest. Living around all the Roman ruins, the castles and the history, I feel like a kid in a candy store. This very area has Roman ruins from 2000 years ago, castles of 1000 years ago and caves where poeple lived in the Bronze Age. Not to mention Merlin and King Authur were about for many years.

I started writing as a child, but didnt formally start on it as a career until my early 30's. I finally got an associates of arts degree in Jouranlism in 1995, but have worked in print, radio and video journalism since 1992. While at college I worked on the college paper as a reporter, copy editor, and finally the managing editor. I am also now back attending the University of Wales, Trinty College, in Carmarthen working toward a Joint Honours Bachelors Degree in Geography and Education Studies.

At times I have worked in what my dad calls "proper" jobs such as office administration, safety, and research and development, all the while keeping up my writing/journalism in some shape of form. I also have been doing the "mommy" thing for my 18 and 17 year old daughters, however I expect to declare myself insane sometime in the next 5 years due to the rampant rage of teenage hormones running through our house!

I am a complete web surfer, love hitting sites of all kinds. I mostly hang about any sites to do with NASA, Disney, genealogy or my beloved Dallas Cowboys. I guess my main hobby now, outside of my writing is genealogy. I have managed to trace my roots back to the 9th century, but it is a most addictive hobby. Cant seem to stop!

Other than that, all I can say about myself, is I love to write, and Wales is someplace I would like the whole world to know about. It is such a wonderful place, and it is time the English stop hogging the limelight!
