Ann Silberman - Profile

My name is Ann, and I live in beautiful Northern California. I have two children, both boys. One is 2 and one is 12, and I left my career as a computer professional to stay home with the baby.

Cooking is my hobby and writing is my passion. Combining the two for Suite 101 seemed ideal. I particularly love to entertain, but being a Californian, don't usually want to do formal sit down dinners. Appetizers and drinks on the deck are more my style, and I have collected thousands of appetizer recipes that I would love to share. I have also done some informal catering, taken cooking classes at the California Culinary Institute, and Home Chef. I was also a part of the restaurant industry for many years.

I have been on the internet since 1991, and fell in love with the medium from my first "gopher" search. I am involved with many mailing lists, and spend all my "free" time (baby naps) web surfing and answering email. My favorite internet site is epicurious.com, I have never come up short there in looking for an idea or recipe.

I hope to be able to share my love of cooking with others, from beginners to experienced cooks, and share my recipes and ideas.
