From a family of five, Timothy John Woods hails from the island town of Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Upon turning 18 he moved to Manchester, England to study political science at Manchester Metropolitan University, graduating in 2007. He will be working as an English language teacher in Barcelona for much of 2009, before setting off around Asia. Eventually Timothy would like to return to education to study an MA in International Relations.
Writing for Suite101, Timothy will be focusing on contentious issues to do with international politics, football and popular culture. He tends to write about the topics in the public domain he feels passionate about, rather than strictly scrutinizing on the issue of the day. The young writer is currently working on a short story. He also aims to write not strictly a travel book, but an account of his travels through Asia and Eastern Europe. His writing influences include Umberto Eco, Milan Kundera and J.D Salinger.
He is a keen observer of the music industry, contemporary and past. A guitar player himself, he enjoys listening to an eclectic range of musical styles, however rock music remains his favoured choice.
Timothy is constantly searching for new ideas to bring to his writing, and looks forward to showcasing them here at Suite101.
