At the age of five I became a European immigrant to Australia. As my father chased work and dreams I grew up on the move, from one house to another, one town to another. So I grew up with a smattering of friends and ties scattered around Australia and a dream to see the world. The makings of a vagabond they tell me, and that's the direction I went for a few years, mostly in Europe, touching Asia and North America. On the way I developed my passion for people and culture, and the things that brought them to me. Hitching was one of them, Esperanto another, Pen-pals, Hospitality clubs, and others. I keep a web page with pointers in that regard.

I'm a mechanical engineer by profession, worked in the steel industry for a while, and am now in the field of telecommunications. I've been on the net since 1985 and have seen it grow from tin cans joined by string, to what we have now. Having spent so much time with the net, and seen so many people absorbed by it I've developed another passion, what I call "Life beyond the Net". It's the excuse I make for oft tardy responses to my emails ... an excuse I cherish in all honesty.

I have, after many years on the road, settled in Hobart Tasmania for the moment where I have a lovely partner and daught (Makale'a and Gypsy Anna) that have a monopoly on my attentions ...
