Terrie Bittner has been a homeschooling mother for more than 13 years. She wrote a homeschooling column for BellaOnline.com for three years and also hosts the terriebittner.com, which has three web pages: Treasured Time for Homeschooling, LDS Treasures, and her own genealogy. She has published in numerous homeschooling and educational journals, including Homeschool Horizons Magazine, LD Online and Education World. Her first book, Homeschooling: Take a Deep Breath--You Can Do This, was published by Mapletree Publishing. Terrie has adult ADD, dysgraphia, arthritis and auditory processing difficulties. Her children also have several learning disabilities and one child has cerebral palsy. The complications of traditionally schooling a child who was both highly gifted and learning disabled led her to first homeschool her children. As she has learned to cope with her own disabilities, which were not diagnosed until adulthood, she has come to the conclusion that the disabled can do anything anyone else can do-they just might have to do it differently. This philosophy has guided her homeschool teaching.
Terrie Bittner developed and teaches a class at Suite U on homeschooling special needs children.
