I thought it was a time to change who I was, like the skin of a Tuatara, changing for the year. I could describe myself as like a old Kiwi, blindly stumbling around letting my beak find my way, but I think maybe I am like our Kea, very inquisitive and cheeky, always getting into trouble, but with age learning a few of the tricks.

Part of this metamorphous is at this time of my youth of the fabulous 40's I have discovered and opened the door to continuing education. I have just finished studying and gained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education, with a strong intrest in Sociolgy too. Now in my madness am working towards my Masters. I am also passionate about my part of the world, which happens to be New Zealand.

Therein lies the reason for my being here. To share with the world, well at least Suite101 the joy of living nearly at the end of the earth in New Zealand

My family looks on in bewilderment. One of my Teenage daughters says, "Mum you can't write, you aren't a writer, that's what people do that write newspapers and books. Anyway Mum you are too old" The absolute view of youth. In reality I am very lucky to be able to share my days with 3 supportive children, some very cool friends and a menagerie of animals. For though we live in the city we share our garden with a dog, cat, 4 hens, 1 noisy rooster and 11 chicks. I expect this could change very quickly, depending on the next sick or hurt animal that gets delivered to my doorstop. (why me?)

The rest of my life, as will unfold over my articles, is spread between working part-time, to support the family, trying to keep a school board moving in the right direction and just enjoying life.

My motto in life is keep busy, as we know life could be much worse so "Be Happy and Smile!!!"
