I am a single mother of one, teenage boy. I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology. I recently moved to Bellevue Washington. My passion has always been learning more about myself as a woman and understanding how and why various experiences and activities effect us the way they do. During my internship for the Master's Degree, I worked at the Tennessee Prison for Women. I conducted one-on-one sessions with individuals dealing with self esteem issues and developing coping skills in stressful situations. I also lead groups called "Creating Healthy Relationships" and "Anger Management." In these groups we learned about creating a healthy self, finding a healthy partner and cultivating a healthy realtionship. I think that these are issues that relate to every woman. I found that many women allow themselves to be trapped in abusive situations due to lack of self-esteem and inablity to cope with change. I would like to write articles to discuss these issues. |
