I'm a Socialist/Activist/wannabe Slacker. I write poetry, fiction and do some freelance work on occasion. I was the chief editor (and founder) of the now retired literary journal Subterranean Quarterly and the founder of Unfortunate Bohemia Publishing, Inc. I love photography. I'm a nomad. I spent the better part of my 20's wishing that I could become a dolphin. I drink too much coffee and don't care who knows it.
I am a native of Illinois and I have studied creative writing at the University of Nebraska. In 2004, I won the Prairie Schooner Merit Scholar prize at the Nebraska Writers Workshop. My work has appeared in Word Riot, GetUnderground.com, Zygote in my Coffee, Plains Song Review Volumes II & IV, the anthology Times of Sorrow/ Times of Grace and other publications. In addition, I am currently working on my first novel, Common Denominator as well as a collection of poetry titled Urban Tumbleweed.
