Suite101

My main "passions" if that's what you call the things that excite you, occupy your thoughts a lot and go beyond true loves - family and home - all involve "dirt". I get it all over me because gardening is a passion; I want to see what's in it because archaeology is another passion; and I read a lot of mystery and detective novels - full of ditry little secrets!

I discovered the internet and Suite 101 shortly before I became a half century old. I've been married to "Jack the Bear" for more than a quarter of a century, no kids (however, I am a great aunt already, eight times over). We have pets. Mr. Flinders - the almost Australian Shepherd and Tucson the Terrible - an orange tabby. We live in a small two-story yellow brick house on a postage stamp sized lot (sort of townhouse like) that's more than 110 years old, in a growing (to quickly for my liking) city of almost 100,000 folk in Southern Ontario, Canada, named Guelph (Gwelf). The city is home to a world famous university - famous for its vet school and agricultural focus (Moo U - the University of Guelph). And the stupidest City Council in miles!

I no longer communte by Greyhound bus 100 kms (60 miles) daily to a job in the Big Smoke - Toronto - I am now the Communications Officer for a public (non religious, non private, open to all) school board (district). My job is to work with the system (schools, parents, administration, students - all our publics) to promote public education, and the system in our area. I started this job on October 12, 1999 after 14 year of working on the provincial education scene. Now I am home, and I love it!

Some day I'll be able to post my photo here, except that I take the pictures, I don't appear in them. You can find me in the gardening topics and the discussions on the Suite among other topics. I don't Scribble, I'm to long winded!
