When I became a stay-home mother of two small children, I suddenly needed to become more efficient at keeping track of our family finances. I had never budgeted nor had I ever had to seek out ways of doing things more frugaly. That all changed, however, in July 1998 when my family moved to Vancouver, Washington. I left my job as a teacher to be at home to raise my children. At age 30, I thought it was also time to learn how to make my money last! Out of necessity, I have learned many invaluable strategies, tips, and ideas for keeping my family's finances under control. In addition to keeping the finances, I also find time to enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, reading, baking, and my children. The internet is also something I discovered once I became a stay-home mom and it has been a great source of information in my quest to become frugal and financially fit. I am able to spend an hour or two each day surfing the web if I utilize the time while my kids are sleeping. Happy finances!
