Laurel Morris - Profile

Most of my time on this earth has been dedicated to a never-ending quest for knowledge. It's been like that as far back as I can remember. And that desire for knowledge just naturally transferred over to the Internet. My love of gardening started when I was in the second grade, and everyone in the class was issued a Dixie Cup and a lima bean to plant. I took it home and was so excited and proud when it became a plant! Today I manage a 35' square organic garden with my husband, and an acre lot with lots of flower beds, trees and shrubs. The National Wildlife Federation has certified our yard as a backyard wildlife habitat. I have completed my course of study at the University of N.C./County Agricultural Extension, and I am now a Master Gardener. Herbs are my passion. It started when I found out how much better fresh herbs taste than the ones that have been in jars for who knows how long! However, more serious research started when I began to experience migraine headaches and I desired a more natural way of relief. With the knowledge base I have, I hope to be able to share sprouting, growing and harvesting techniques, as well as preservation and applications of a wide variety of herbs.
