I am passionate about intelligent, compassionate horsemanship; well-written English prose; master paintings of any period, in any medium, but particularly Dufy and Sargent; good food and wine, particularly French wine; Dublin; Paris. My hobbies include riding dressage and teaching hunt seat; travel to Dublin, Paris and Key West, and cooking for good friends. I am interested in the possibility that an expansion of cultural education would enhance the quality of life for everyone, particularly in the U.S. where such education has suffered enormous cutbacks. My favorite sites on the web are www.IrishAbroad.com, www.Weather.com, and all the writing and journalism sites. I also like quirky sites about such things as Joan of Arc, the music of Hildegard of Bingen and other esoteric little backwaters. I have a degree in English Literature and Theatre from SUNY Binghamton, worked on my master's in journalism at the University of Georgia and studied painting with Robert Beverly Hale and Tom Fogarty at the Art Students League in NYC. I have taken the core curriculum in English horsemanship at Virginia Intermont College, and have studied with several jumping coaches, and with dressage FEI master Deedee Bierbrauer, and former international competitor Frank Daigle. |
