Steve Honeywell - Profile

I am a freelance writer, specializing in computer and video game software. I have written and published over 20 books about computer and video games for Prima Publishing. While I do books on just about everything, I specialize in fantasy/science fiction military strategy (think Command & Conquer), first-person action (think Quake variants) and fantasy role-playing (think Diablo). I've you've bought a recent strategy guide for a recent Command & Conquer or Dune game, you've lined my pockets without even knowing it.

I'm also a huge videophile, and have been known to watch the same move three times in a row in the same day, looking for nuances or missed bits of dialogue. This is something of a sickness, I admit. I can usually spout out about 50% of the dialogue in any movie I've seen just once--a trait that drives my wife crazy. I can pick out a character actor at 50 paces, and I've seen everything--another trait that drives my wive crazy.

I used to teach Hapkido, and have black belts in three different martial arts styles, which allows me to shout out "Hey, I can do that!" at inappropriate moments of martial arts films. I'm also currently learning Japanese, which allows me to do the same thing in a more appropriate language.

I live with my wife, Sue, who tries to understand, my daughter Gail, who is too young to understand, and our dog Baskerville, who likes to bite my ankles.
