With a mission to educate students as well as society about the alarming rates of stress, anxiety and burnout occurring across America's schools and campuses, Elizabeth Trego, Ph.D., founder of the Elizabeth Trego Educational Counseling Center, offers counseling services, products, online personal development courses, and supportive discussion groups, designed to meet the needs of those who want to learn more about anxiety and stress, as well as recent graduates and "20-somethings" having difficulties transitioning to the "real" world and suffering from feelings of isolation, indecisiveness and worry.
Since 1997, Dr. Trego has offered individual counseling to anxiety and stress sufferers, providing an awareness of these issues, along with the tools and strategies needed for self-discovery and goal achievement. Author of the self-help book, "The Undercurrents of Anxiety," and weekly newspaper column, "Seize the Day!" Dr. Trego has also focused on providing advice and information to the public on issues of stress, anxiety, and life management. As a psychology teacher, tutoring program coordinator, and university counseling center graduate assistant, Dr. Trego has worked one-on-one with students in the areas of academic counseling, mentoring, and tutoring. She has also given group seminars in time management, test anxiety, and study skills.
Dr. Trego received her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology, specializing in stress management and performance enhancement. Her professional memberships include the National Mental Health Association and American Institute of Stress, where she is a third year Fellow. Dr. Trego is also a member of a consultation cadre at UCLA's Center for Mental Health in Schools, offering informal consultation at no charge to colleagues trying to improve systems, programs, and services for addressing barriers to learning.
