Life on Earth has been evolving since its first appearance as single-celled bacteria about 3 billion years ago. Over time, the processes of natural selection, sexual selection, drift, and mutation have created millions of new life forms.
360 million years ago aquatic animals with multi-jointed leg-like fins began to exploit terrestrial environments. 230 -65 million years ago dinosaurs dominated these terrestrial environments. About 5- 7 million years ago, the human lineage diverged from the chimpanzee one.
