Carolyn Hart's new Christmas mystery-It's a must read!

In this, the 12th book in Carolyn Hart's popular DEATH ON DEMAND series, Carolyn Hart once again provides the reader with a delightful story and great characters. Since SUGARPLUM DEAD is set at Christmas time this one makes a great holiday read. Mystery bookseller, Annie Darling and her playful husband Max, are set to enjoy a merry Christmas when Annie's life is turned upside down by the appearance of her father, whom she hasn't seen in twenty-five years. To make things even more difficult, he brings with him a troubled teenaged girl who wants to be Annie's sister. Annie is drawn into the troubles of this young girl and her father's ex-wife; troubles that end up leading to murder. Things are made even worse when Max's mother, Laurel, seems to be drawn to a conman posing as a spiritualist, and the small town rumor mills believe she is losing her mind. What might Laurel have up her sleeve this time? Instead of enjoying the wonders of the Christmas season and selling Christmas mysteries, Annie must find a murderer, keep her mother-in-law from getting into too much trouble, and deal with her mixed emotions regarding her father. While enjoying a great story, the reader is also treated to Hart's usual mention of other mystery authors and their books, helping to add to everyone's Christmas list of books they want this year. And once again you get the chance to try and figure out Annie's book cover contest. I love the DEATH ON DEMAND series and I wasn't disappointed with SUGARPLUM DEAD. It was a wonderful read that I had a hard time tearing myself away for all of my holiday obligations.
