Where's That? The Place To Be In 2003! It was important to me when I chose to create this project that it be affordable and achievable for everyone in our community. This is because the theme for the Festival this year is belonging. It is crucial that no one be excluded from the creative community building activities or on the night of the Festival. And so the design had to be easily accessible to the elderly as well as the young, disabled, all races, religions and cultures that seek to belong in our environment. It had to have parameters that did not empower the rich or for any reason exclude the poor as is often the case. However the rich are not only welcome but valued as participants who bring with them a wealth of expertise and gentle light hearted banter. This after all is a getting to know you exercise. No reverse discrimination here! The method involved in the project is to be explained very well. It is extremely important that those who feel less than confident or who teeter on the edge of low esteem - are empowered, enlighten and enthused. Goodness you say could this be possible? Can't think why not!Just this morning (22nd April) I received an email from Krishanna Spencer from the Suite team of editors. She writes the topic Assemblage, Sculpture, Collage, Creative Arts, Creativity She is allowing me to display her image "Triple Goddess" so that readers can have a glimpse of what can be achieved. I am not sure how Krishanna did her sculptural piece - but- let me explain how we will go about ours. Not that everyone has to do it exactly this way but if time is precious, materials are rare and experience is a little on the scarce side this instructional essay will guide you every step of the way. Preparations.
