NASCAR travels to it's fourth horsepower track in as many races and the cars with the biggest motors should once again rule Michigan this weekend.

NASCAR makes it's second appearance of the summer in Michigan this Sunday August 16, 2010. Many NASCAR fantasy owners put stock in the drivers that performed well in the first Michigan race. Time that passes from the first to second race, ages the track and setups that worked well in June do not carry over to August. One aspect of Michigan does hold true for both races, cars that can't turn high RPM's don't stand a chance.

Michigan is all about bragging rights for the car manufacturers also. Ford will bring it's Ford FR-9 engine, the engine Greg Biffle drove to victory in Pocono two weeks ago. This will make any of the Ford drivers a good choice or even a good long shot choice to make up ground on those Fantasy NASCAR owners that only choose NASCAR fantasy drivers, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick every week.

Top Choice for a Michigan Fantasy NASCAR Driver is Greg Biffle

Greg Biffle is on the edge of getting knocked out of the NASCAR Chase. Biffle sits precariously in 11th place and now that he has the confidence brought to him by his recent win at Pocono, Biffle with have the bit between his teeth and he will have the motor to push himself to victory.

Another reason Biffle is a great NASCAR fantasy first choice this week is the track. Biffle loves to drive a car on the edge and in this race the back ends will be hanging out like sprint cars going around Knoxville, loose is fast and it will be a loose set up that wins this race. Biffle would also bring his recently injured owner, Jack Roush, a win in his home state.

2nd Choice for Michigan NASCAR Fantasy Driver is Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch and the Blue Deuce have been competitive on every horsepower track they have raced. Busch has two wins on the big two mile track but has also suffered some of his worst finishes, as his 19.4 average finish will attest. Busch is still a solid NASCAR fantasy pick based on past performance and engine power. The Penske Dodge team has been good but occasionally inconsistent.

A Great Pick for a 3rd Driver at Michigan NASCAR Fantasy Driver is Carl Edwards

Carl Edwards will also be sporting the FR-9 power plant under the hoodand the desire to get Ford and Jack Roush into victory lane. along with himself.Edwards and the Roush Fenway team have made tremendous strides up to this point . They appear to have enough muscle to start winning races at the clip they were winning in 2008.

A 4th NASCAR Fantasy Driver for Michigan is Kasey Kahne

Kasey Kahne is far from a B group NASCAR fantasy driver although that is where he ranks in many NASCAR fantasy racing leagues. Kahne will also have the Ford FR-9 power under the hood and a driving desire to sin a few races before the season closes out.

The 5th and Last NASCAR Fantasy Driver to Consider is Always a Gamble

AJ Allmendinger was the NASCAR fantasy gamble pick last week at Watkins Glen and finished fourth, scoring a ton of unexpected points for NASCAR fantasy racing owners. Allmendinger does well on the big flat ovals also and Michigan should be no different but for some reason it is. Make sure to change the number five pick this week to Martin Truex Jr. He has two seconds at this track but they were in his Earnhardt Chevy.
