The Formula One circuit races on rare back to back weekends as they head to Mogyorod, Hungary for the Hungarian Grand Prix, August 1st, 2010. Team Ferrari will be the primary focus of the media once the team arrive in Mogyorod on Friday for practice.
Alonso & Ferrari May Face Further Sanctions for Team Order Controversy
Fernando Alonso at 9-5 to win the Hungarian Grand Prix and his Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa at 6-1, will attempt to put last weeks team order controversy behind them and they will attempt to focus on winning a second consecutive Formula One race.
It is possible that the Ferrari team could face further sanctions from the World Motor Sports Council other than their $100,000 fine that was imposed immediately after the German Grand Prix last weekend. If Alonso, Massa and Ferrari team principal, Stefano Domenicali will all be under fire from the media, making it difficult for them to focus.
Massa May Be Allowed to Win Hungarian Grand Prix in His Return from Near Fatal Crash
Massa finds himself back in Hungary after his near fatal freak accident in last years knockout qualifying run. Massa was hit directly in the head by a flying spring from a slower car. The force of the spring knocked Massa unconscious and nearly cost the Brazilian his life. Massa did not finish the season but has made a brilliant comeback in the 2010 Formula One season.
Massa is a 6-1 shot to win the Hungarian Grand Prix according to the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook and was a 40-1 shot to win the German Grand Prix last week when he was ordered to pull over. The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook obviously has a feeling Team Ferrari will make amends with Massa by allowing him to contend for the Hungarian Grand Prix trophy.
Sebastian Vettel & Mark Webber Still Considered Favorites to Win Hungarian Grand Prix
Team Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel at 9-5 and Mark Webber at 5-1, are still considered the team to beat in Formula One. Vettel has dominated qualifying this year and when Webber isn't upset about being treated as a second banana, he is a force to be reckoned with under race conditions.
Mercedes McLaren Teammates Take a Back Seat for Hungarian Grand Prix
Mercedes McLaren's British drivers, Lewis Hamilton at 6-1 and Jenson Button at 15-1 are the two forgotten Formula One drivers on the circuit. After their lackluster performance in the German Grand Prix and with no one giving them a chance heading to the Hungarian Grand Prix, this may be a good time to jump on the Mercedes McLaren bandwagon.
Podium Picks for the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix
Although Felipe Massa is the sentimental favorite to win, Lewis Hamilton at 6-1 has won two of the last three Hungarian Grand Prix's and at 6-1 is a live pick to stand on top of the podium. Jenson Button at 15-1 is also a former winner in the Hungarian Grand Prix and is a solid second choice. Finally take Massa at 6-1 as a cover bet (a bet to cover the amount bet on all three).
