Saving Money & Wasting Less
Lesson 5: Getting around
Lesson Questions
- How well do you know your neighbours? Do you know them as well as your parents knew their neighbours?
- Have you thought about your car? If you have one and are convinced you need one, why? When did you last use public transport?
- Do you spend a lot of money on clothes and shoes? What are some other ways you could save money on these?
- Can you think of other ways to entertain yourself or your family sometimes, without relying on technology to entertain you?
- If you feel the need to have things just because others have them, or because it's 'the latest thing', try memorising this from 'Walden' by Henry David Thoreau:
Ïf a man does not keep pace with his companions,
perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
however measured, or far away.
