Lesson 7: The Seventh Dispensation

The Great White Throne Judgment

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them" (Revelation:20:11).

Well it is almost time for me to say good-by and wish you God-speed. We have covered much territory from Genesis through Revelation in such a short time. Please remember that there is much in-between our lessons which, because of time constraints, I did not cover. Also please remember that I have written these lessons from my perspective according to my personal exegesis of Scripture, my life-long belief in God's Word, and in various learning formats with well-known Bible teachers such as Dr. David Jeremiah; Dr. Charles Stanley; Dr. J. Vernon McGee; Rabbi Loren of Congregation Shema Yisrael, Southfield, Michigan; Zola Levitt, Levitt Ministries, Dallas Texas, and the late Dr. M. R. DeHaan.

The Great White Throne Judgment cited above is the final judgment and ends the seventh dispensation. Included in this judgment, heaven and earth, as we know it today, will be no more. The way is now paved for the new beginning known as eternity, and considered by some as being an eighth dispensation. However, since there are no further judgments after the seventh dispensation, I do not consider eternity a dispensation.

Now, the Great White Throne Judgment is what some individuals, churches, and denominations call the General Judgment. This judgment, according to God's Word, is only for the lost - those who refused to make the pilgrimage to the Cross to meet Yeshua, the Messiah, Lord Jesus Christ. Christians, those who believed in the Christ of the Bible, and were saved, were raised in the first resurrection. What I am talking about here are those people who refused Christ, as did Cain. They will meet Christ and give an account to Him of their works, and they will be judged fairly.

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne; and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged every one according to their works" (Revelation 20:12-13). The Great White Throne Judgment is for the lost, according to Scripture, while the Judgment Seat of Christ is for rewards to those who followed Christ.

In closing, I want to say a few words about those who have been buried at sea or cremated. There are those who say they do not believe in Hell. Cremation to many of them seems the logical way to avoid it, just in case it does exist. After all, they rationalize, if there is no body or skeleton, there is nothing. Bodies were composed of chemicals which, after death, are no longer present. They will have been blown away to the four corners of the earth. Now, this does not present a problem to the Creator. What in the world are a few atoms to the One who created the atom in the beginning? He will simply put them back together again. No problem at all for Him, who holds this Universe together.

The lessons on the seven dispensations have been completed. The last lesson (8) will deal with some of the current issues confronting dispensationalism

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Even so, come Lord Jesus." Amen.
