Keeping Track of Characters With so many interesting and involved characters, it is a good idea to have a way to keep track of them all. At the end of each chapter, note new characters you've met in that chapter in your notebook. Be sure to include the name of the character, what is unique about him, the circumstances surrounding the character, and why the character is important to the story. Character Wheels To make a character wheel, choose your favorite character and follow these steps: 1. On a piece of 12" x18" paper, make a 12" circle (you can ask your parents for help with this). Cut out the circle. 2. On the large circle, make a smaller 6" circle in the center of the big circle. 3. On the smaller circle, write the name of your character, and draw a small picture of him or her. 4. Next, draw "spokes" on the larger circle and write characteristics of your character on each. Think of as many as you can. I am...Poems Choose a character. Use this poem template to create an "I am..." poem for your character.
