Christianity for KidsLesson 1: Who is God?You Are Special
You are special. No one has the same fingerprints as you. Not anyone, anywhere! That's pretty fantastic. No one has the same thoughts as you. You may share the same ideas with people, but only you can think the way you do. Do you wear your hair long, medium, or short length? You wear your hair the way you do because you like it. It makes you YOU. But, do you know how many hairs you have on your head? Ahh, now there's an interesting question? Not many people, if anybody, knows the answer to that question. God knows! Before you were even born, He knew how many hairs were on your head. The Bible says so in Luke 12:7 "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered." God made you because He wanted to love you. He wanted you to be part of His family. He gave you a spirit that brings you to life. If you did not have a spirit, you would be skin and bones. You would not be able to feel anything. Ephesians 2:10 states, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." You see, God created us to be like Him. He is good, and we should be good, too. If you will remember from Genesis 1, God created everything on heaven and earth. Read Genesis 1:1-31, if you need to. Then, he created people! God made sure that we had everything we needed to survive before He created us. Our food, clothing, shelter, were all in place before God made us. He cares for us. So, the next time you need a reminder of how special you are, remember this simple poem: God made me to be like Him |
