Lesson 3: What is Prayer?

ACTS Prayer

ACTS Prayer

Another way to pray is called the "ACTS" prayer. This is easy to remember because it is one word that you have to remember. It is also a book of the Bible. Let's take a look at this way to pray.

ACTS

A is for Adoration. Adoration means praise. This is a time in prayer to praise God just for who He is. You can say things like, "God you are so wonderful," "God you are my Maker." Anything you want to say to let God know that you know He is in control of your life and everything in heaven and on earth.

C is for Confession. The Bible tells us that God will forgive our sins, if we tell Him what we've done wrong. This is a time to ask God to forgive you. You must tell God the specific things that you have done wrong and you feel sorry about. Once you confess, your sins will be forgiven, no questions asked!

T is for Thanksgiving. Now is the time to thank God for all the wonderful things you have. You can thank him for the world, for your puppy, for your brothers and sisters, and anything else you just feel like thanking God for.

S is for Supplication. That's a big word! It means praying for people that you know that need God. You can pray for a friend that you want to be a Christian like you. You can pray for family or friends who are sick and need God to heal them. This is a time to come before God with special requests.
