Poultry, Eggs & Fish
Poultry, eggs and fish all contain a large amount of e-coli if not stored and handled properly. Keep these items refrigerated until you are ready to prepare them.Remember to: Wash poultry with cold water before preparing. Wash hands after preparing poultry and eggs. Wash counter top well with anti-bacterial spray or hot water and soap after preparing. Never eat raw or partially cooked eggs. Always cook eggs until firm. Never serve if still runny. Avoid eating foods that include raw eggs. Never eat rare poultry. Internal temperature should be 180 degrees. Be sure poultry is fully cooked. Juices run clear and meat is white in the center when poultry is fully cooked. Cook fish until it is flaky and white. Baked Salmon Steak 1 whole salmon steak
1 lemon
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Salt & pepper to taste
1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
Use a non-stick 9 x 13 baking dish. Put steak in dish, skin side down. Salt and pepper to taste. Spread mayonnaise over steak. Place onion slices on top of the steak. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon.
Place in oven which has been preheated to 350 degrees. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until salmon is flaky.
