Numerology 103Lesson 1: Introductory NumerologyThe Defective SystemPresently, the practice of numerology follows certain sets of principles obtained through deductions and additions of birth, month and year numbers, calculating the numerical values of the letters, vowels and consonants in a name and applying some more formulas based on these values. But it has no clear cut method of predicting the events. The present period is witnessing a boom in numerology and a good number of numerologists are cropping up every day. Each of them differs vehemently from the other on the interpretation of numbers of destiny, challenges, pinnacles and other concepts. Several books have been written detailing the various concepts of numerology but all of them explain the same concepts in a slightly different way. Whatever is the interpretation, one is forced to question the very logic of some of these principles and concepts as they are contradictory in nature. For example, think of the so called heart’s desire number which is obtained by adding up all the numerical values of vowels in a person’s birth name. It is said that the numerical values of the consonants in the same name, when added up, produce the personality number. As per the view of several numerologists the world over, a person is always guided by a permanent desire or by a limited set of desires representing the heart desire’s number obtained as described above. First of all, there is no limit to desires. They change every second of the minute, every minute of the hour and every hour of the day depending on the circumstances. It is an universally accepted fact that a person’s thoughts or desires reflect his mind which echoes his heart. A thought or desire has its base in a mind which has a direct link with the heart. If the heart of a person thinks of or desires something, he will take a decision for the fulfillment of his thought or desire and then action follows. If action does not follow, what does it mean? It conveys that a decision has not been taken and that the thought has been abandoned or desire killed. When a thought has been abandoned or a desire killed, it no longer exists in the mind. And the heart no longer craves for it. It can also be interpreted that a thought or desire is postponed for a further date and temporarily it has been kicked out from the mind and heart. It may crop up or not in the person’s heart again. What does all of this convey? Desires can be many and changing even though a person’s heart is one. A person is never guided by a limited or certain set of desires. Given this background, what is the use of finding out a person’s heart desire number or minor heart desire number? One can find at least some sort of logic if it is said that the total numerical value of the birth name of a person reflects his heart’s desire or something else. But one sees no whiff of logic when the name is split into two divisions of vowels and consonants. The major defect The major defect of the numerology, as it is studied or understood today, is that you cannot understand the true nature of a person completely or correctly, let alone think of judging or predicting events correctly, even if you read the bundle of numbers such as the life path number, expression number, minor expression number, heart’s desire number, minor heart’s desire number, karmic number, numbers of pinnacles and challenges, hidden passion and personality. Frankly speaking, one is bored of reading the endless list of numbers in detail as it leads to confusion. Apparently, it has no particular system or method through which one can guide oneself or the members of the public about the impending good or bad periods. Also events like marriage, job, promotion, change of residence or job, short or long distance travel, marital relations, falling sick or regaining health can not be conclusively predicted through the present method of numerology, as it is popular today.
