Glossary

  • Betting History – Record of the bets placed in the previous betting rounds.

  • Betting Pattern – A repetitive and predictable style of betting.

  • Bluff – To continue betting in a poker hand while holding a weak hand or no hand.

  • Court Cards – Jacks, queens, or kings.

  • Drawing Hand – A worthless hand that has the potential to become a strong hand through the flop, turn, or river.

  • Low Numbered Pair – Any pair using cards 2 through 8.

  • Semi-Bluff – A bet or raise that you hope will not be called, but you have some outs if it is.

  • Tell – A clue or hint that a player unknowingly gives about the strength of his or her hand, his or her next action, etc.
