Lesson 2: Caring for the Broodmare
Introduction
You now have your pregnant mare at home. She doesn’t look any different, but growing inside is that precious dream. How do you have to treat her differently? Just like many expectant mothers, changes occur internally first and are barely noticeable to even the most observant eye. We will cover nutrition, exercise, health care and discerning early problems.
At the end of this lesson you should compile a time chart for caring for the brood mare through each stage. There will be an assignment for figuring your ration for your mare.
