Lesson 8: Multigenerational Travel

Vacation Ideas

The best vacation ideas for multigenerational groups involve a wide variety of activities available for different abilities and preferences. Cruises and resorts usually have a variety of activities for all ages in a self-contained setting. Other stay in one place vacations such as renting a house or camping are also good multigenerational ideas.

More active multigenerational holidays include amusement parks, national parks, rail journeys, ranches, historic sites, and adventure tours. The level of activity for your vacation will depend on the abilities and preferences of your group.

Scheduling some activities apart and some activities together is another alternative. In general toddlers and seniors are early risers. Babies, toddlers, and seniors may require afternoon breaks. Teenagers like to sleep late. Therefore, you may want to schedule relaxed family activities in the morning and separate teenager activities in the afternoon.
