Lesson 8: The Virtual Classroom, Part Two

Your Mission... Should You Choose To Accept It

Phase One: Materials

You will be creating a complete website which follows one of the website layout templates, complete with reference materials, links, etc.

To start, you need to download the following template:

website layout template (Please jump back to Page 3, Content, Template Modification, and Script Installation if you haven't chosen your template yet.)

Phase Two: Preparation

Perform any tasks necessary (investigation, data gathering, etc).

Using the template provided, create your version of a classroom website, focusing on one audience and goal (Students and Homework, for example). Spend some time on this - what you end with should be ready to take into your classroom for immediate use.

***Note: all books and assignments are optional and are provided as additional information for the student.

The Requirements: What You Will Be Responsible for Including

This course concludes with the creation of our classroom websites. Each website absolutely MUST contain the following elements, in addition to anything else you may decide to include:

  • Links to information
  • One week's classroom goals and rubric
  • An online contact form (one is provided in the template, just edit the email address it links to)
  • One interactive element which is your choice- can be a game script, calendar script, or something else you locate.
