Lesson 3: Imagination Questions- The Basics

Transportation

The final basic is Transportation. Most likely you will require a way to get to your vacation. Like the other basics, the type of transportation you use during your vacation is up to you.

Take a piece of paper and write the title “Transportation”. I have also posted a Basic Questions Form in the Exercise 3-Transportation section of this lesson. Feel free to print out a copy of this form for your own use. Down one side of the paper write the following topics: Walking/Hiking, Bicycle, Horse, Car, Bus, Public Transportation, Kayak/Canoe, Snowmobile, Train, Plane, Hot Air Balloon, Boat, Cruise Ship, and Helicopter. Add any additional Transportation categories that come to mind. Feel free to share these new categories on the discussion board.

Most of these Transportation categories are self-explanatory. A Plane is a plane whether the plane is a private four seat plane or a commercial Boeing 747. Obviously, the size and type of plane will depend upon the purpose.

A few of these Transportation categories may require a little more explanation. For example, the difference between a Bus, Public Transportation, and a Train are quite subtle. Even though Public Transportation may be a bus or a train, I have grouped these into Public Transportation if they tend to travel from place to place within the boundaries of a single city. A Bus and a Train are defined as separate groups if these vehicles tend to travel long distances between various cities.

Under the Transportation title also rate your preferred transportation method. Rate each Transportation category between one and five. One on this scale means there is no possible way that anyone can force you to do put yourself through that torture. Five on this scale means you’d love traveling this way, you’ve always dreamed of using this type of transportation. Exactly between these two extremes is a three. A three on this scale means you neither like nor dislike the idea of this mode of transportation. A two on this scale means you’d really rather not try this transportation method. A four on this scale means that it sounds kind of fun to try.

Try to answer each of these selections as honestly as possible. Remember that there are no wrong answers. However, the more honest you are the more you will enjoy your vacation. If others are accompanying you on your vacation, complete this section for each of them as well.

There is also a section for comments at the end of each response line. Use this space for your general comments or to write any specific ideas that come to mind. For instance, in the Cruise section comment you might write the name of the company that your best friend suggested.
