Travel Planning
Lesson 1: Travel Planning
Having Fun Planning
The key to successful travel is planning. Planning involves asking pertinent questions, researching the answers, and then making your plans reality. However, always remember that travel planning is supposed to be fun. Use your Restriction Questions and Editing Questions as boundaries but let your Imagination Questions be your guide.
Plan a trip that is uniquely yours. No matter how restricted your circumstances, try to add something to your trip to make it uniquely yours.
For example, I remember once I was monitoring a pipeline for potential archaeological sites near a remote hamlet. Basically, as the construction crew progressed, I was to check for unearthed artifacts. However, in several instances, the construction crew had to cut through solid rock taking several hours. While I was waiting for the construction crew, I took a little hike up to the next construction area (through a beautiful wooded area). Then, at lunchtime, I found a little grassy knoll with a perfect view of the mountains and ate my bag lunch. In this way, I managed to enjoy at least a portion of what could have been a very long and mundane trip.
So let your imagination and creativity free as you to planning a wonderful vacation. Enjoy your adventure.
