Lesson 2: Finding a Job

Libraries

Libraries are a good place to look for babysitting jobs. Many libraries have bulletin boards for job postings and some even have child care books where potential babysitters can put their information and availability on display. Generally the library is a good place to find part time work. In some cases, but not often, fulltime positions can be found advertised at your local library. Looking at the public library is only good for local jobs so if you are thinking of venturing out of state, newspapers and agencies are your best bet.

You should expect to go through the same process as you would for responding to newspaper ads. As stated earlier, if you choose to respond to a posting you assume most of the responsibility for asking the right questions and making a match that you feel comfortable with. Do not let this discourage you. It might be more work but if you want to have ultimate control over your job search, this is the right way for you to go about it.
