Lesson 3: Who wrote the Books of the Bible?

NT: The Acts and The Revelation

The book of Acts is also attributed to Luke. It was most likely written in Rome, right after Paul’s death in 63 AD at the hands of the Roman Emperor Nero. (6) This book chronicles the formation of the early Christian church, its life-changing power, and its inner workings, especially in light of disagreements and persecutions.

The Book of Revelation is attributed to John, the apostle whom Jesus loved. It was quite possibly written on the isle of Patmos, where John was sent into exile, between 54 AD and 68 AD. This book foretells the ultimate victory of the Messiah over the powers of evil. Because of its vivid imagery, this book has been the source of much speculation and discussion.
