Porcelain Painting

Lesson 1: Porcelain Painting Pleasure

Colour Decision Making

The portrait painter reflects something of their own personality in the choice of colours applied. It is purely a personal choice and it is wise to experiment with different 'palette recipes' and then decide your comfort zone. One can intermix their own colour tones for portaits but when the market supplies pre-mixed tonal colours, this is an excellent way to go. These portrait colours have been tried and tested.

TIP: When you make distinctions between warm and cool colours, use contrast of warm and cool one against the other. This achieves: a. visual pleasure. b. variety in your painting.

After some practice your portraits on porcelain should be alive and pleasing to the eye.

AND SO TO PAINT........

See you next time and we will begin to paint! Aileen
