Perhaps you've heard this odd little phrase from time to time? In my experiences, its most frequent appearance is made by an overpaid person in reference to an activity that, once completed, will help ensure that the project remains on or ahead of schedule.
For example:
We really need to ask Johnson's team to work overtime this month so we can ensure that the activities remain forward compatable.
