We've covered some very big, and very important things in this lesson, including an overview of the following concepts: Project Management: Made up of two components. - Process: Project management requires coordinating a series of processes, which typically include planning, scheduling and controlling.
- Objective: Project management manages those processes towards the achievement of the specific goal of the project.
Project Processes: A way to organize project activities in terms of how it is helping the project achieve its ultimate goal. PLC's: The creation-to-conclusion timeline that the project travels upon. The Project Management System:The family of interrelated components which work together to support the project. In our next lesson, we'll continue looking at some more key concepts that you'll find helpful and useful.
Questions for Consideration: 1. Review Lewis' seven components of a Project Management System. Do you see some components are being more important than others? Are some components missing? Which ones? 2. Review the Project Management Institute's five project processes. Do you think these are adequate? What changes do you suggest?
