The GERSON diet is based on the balance of sodium and potassium water management, high doses of fruits and vegetable juices, strict restriction of protein intake, as well as use of a vegetarian diet and coffee enemas. Side effects can include strong body odor, cold sores, pain, fever, cramping, diarrhea, vomiting.
