Suggested Reading for this lesson:

Take a Deep Breath: Chapter 11 on children who are behind or ahead. Chapter 21 on opening your school, which includes emotional issues facing children who had bad experiences in public school.

Homschooling High School: Chapter 5. This chapter covers a standard high school curriculum and allows you to select what material needs to be covered if your child is college-bound.

Get Your Child Off the Refrigerator: Chapter 1. If your child is very active, this chapter will help you explore the challenges ahead of you.

Journaling Suggestions

How did you help your child overcome any emotional, social or educational challenges created by the school?

Does your child get "school-sick?" (This is the equivelent of being homesick and happens for about a year even when school was a nightmare.)

How do you plan to help your child learn to love learning?

Will you give grades?
