It’s a given in today’s environment or business economy that you will have at least a minimum of three to four different careers in your lifetime. Enjoy them, and know when it is time to find another. Self assessment is an ongoing process, and a true professional will constantly do the updating. Just as a retail store needs to take inventory, you need to take stock of what you’re made of, your current goals (both business and personal), your level of satisfaction, etc. Take time on a regular basis to take inventory of yourself. Great for the first time tryer. But a simple paper and pen will work just as well. What do you like about your work, and yourself. What would you change, what would you keep. How can you change it. As we grow, our needs change, and we need to be aware of those changes. You may come to the conclusion that your dream job is not what you are in at the moment.
