Lesson 6: Final Rehearsal

Points to Ponder

Yep, you got it – PRACTICE. Pick a quiet room with a mirror – and start reading your skill statement to yourself – try to get to know your statement by heart, at least for the information if not word for word.

Now try talking to yourself about yourself. If it is too uncomfortable, try by looking at yourself and going over answers in your mind. The more comfortable you get with yourself, the easier ANY presentation, let alone an interview, will be.

Got that business card finished? Try handing them out to friends and gauge their reaction. Try a few business associates as well.

Don’t feel you have to use only one kind of card – as my work is so changeable and different, my cards reflect the appropriate skill set needed for the different situations.
