The last or Hybrid style is the best for you, with modifications. Chapter 21 of Dummies is an excellent place to start. This chapter lists lots of resumes for different strokes, and also gives pointers on whether the resume format is computer friendly (will print out nicely on different computers/printers) or scanable (the employer can scan it into a program to find keywords). Don’t forget to check out the samples in 101 as well. Can’t find one that matches you? I’m not surprised. These samples should be used a guidelines only, to show what you can do to best enhance your skill set. Again, we come back to “what do you want to do” and “how can you do it”. Once you decide that, you’ll be able to more effectively choose a starting style for you. Don’t be afraid to start one and keep changing it – that’s actually how you’ll create the perfect resume for you! But before you can do that – you’ll have to figure out your accomplishments.
