If I had taken ultralight backpacking techniques seriously when I started climbing, I wouldn't have had to endure cramped muscles, shortness of breath, and dead toenails. And all I had to do was cut off brand labels, toothbrush handles, and extraneous straps, and leave my bottle of cologne behind!
