Best Bets!

As you have learned, there are plenty of things to do in Victoria, but do all attractions suit all age groups? Here is my attempt at summarizing activities according to age groups.

Children

• Anyplace a stroller will go if you are travelling with a baby
• Some of the historical places may be a bit boring, but they may find the Wax Museum, Royal
• BC Museum, Maritime Museum, Victoria Bug Zoo, Undersea Gardens and Miniature Village intriguing due to visual effects or interactive exhibits
• Butterfly Gardens because the butterflies fly free in the garden and land on you
• Centre of the Universe (Dominion Astrophysical Observatory)
• Mineral World Scratch Patch
• Horse carriage ride (for young children)
• Boat rides and bus tours
• Imax theatre due to its large screen and photo effects
• Parks with playgrounds or wide open spaces
• Beaches for exploring or wading in the water
• Hotels or motels with swimming pools

Teens

• Beaches, especially where they can see surfers or have a chance to sunbathe or explore around
• Whale watching or fishing tours due to the adventure
• Cycling or kayaking, canoeing or roller blading because it's physical
• Imax Theatre because of the audio and visual effects
• Shopping Malls - yes they are teenagers
• Hiking trails because it's physical
• Swimming areas like the Sooke Potholes where they can watch cliff diving
• Stargazing Saturday Nights at the Centre of the Universe - it's educational and intriguing
• Walking around to see who's out there

Adults

• All museums and galleries
• Live theater or special dinner events
• Any activity available depending on your physical condition or interest or who is travelling with you
• A hotel or motel with a hot tub to relax those aching muscles after a busy day

Please bring good shoes for walking!
