This area is a bird watcher's delight for both marine and shore birds. Several species of gulls linger on the islands at low tide while the grassy areas are laden with herons, geese, finches, and wrens. The park is next door to Fort Rodd Hill/Fisgard Lighthouse so it is convenient to visit both sites while down at the lagoon.
